Chicken Broccoli Divan

Minnesota is known for its “Hot Dishes”. A hot dish typically has some sort of noodle, meat, veggie, and canned soup. I’ve never been too much a fan of these dishes, but this is one style of hot dish that I will make. It’s pretty quick and easy.

Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 20 min
Total Time: 35 min
Yield: 3-4 servings
Taste: Good

4 cups cooked broccoli florets (2 medium heads of broccoli)
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Cheese and Broccoli Soup or Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter, melted

1) To cook broccoli chop off florets and place in a microwavable dish. Add 2 tablespoons of water and cook in microwave for 4 minutes until broccoli is tender. Drain any excess water and place into casserole dish or 9-inch pie plate.
2) Stir the soup and milk in a small bowl. Pour the soup mixture over the broccoli and chicken. Sprinkle with the cheese. Stir the bread crumbs and butter in a small bowl. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the cheese.
3) Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot and bubbling.
