Update: Finally got a chance to make these again and got a photo this time.

Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies

This was a recipe my mom sent me from one of her teacher friends. I made them twice in one week. Once for us and once for a party they were a hit at both:)

Prep Time: 30 min
Cook Time: 20 min
Total Time: 50 min
Yield: 5 dozen-ish
Taste: Very Good


1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teas. cinnamon
1 package yellow cake mix. (Duncan Heinz works best)
2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal (oats)
1 cup cranberries (I use pomegranate Crasins)
White chocolate chips (optional)

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2) Mix the egg, water, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and half of the dry cake mix. Add the rest of the cake mix, oatmeal, Crasins, and optional white chocolate chips. Mix thoroughly. I just use a spoon to mix. Doesn’t require a mixer.

2) Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees until the edges of the cookies start to turn a light brown. 7 minutes or so in Heidi’s HOT oven.
